femoral options
The ACCIS® Hip System was designed to reduce wear in hip replacement arthroplasty. The system
consists of acetabular and femoral head components for total hip replacement and surface replacement of the hip. All components are made from Cobalt-Chrome-Molybdenum alloy.
The articulating surfaces of the metal components are coated with a Titanium-Niobium Nitride ceramic coating
ACCIS® femoral heads for total hip replacement are available in sizes 38 to 58mm in 2mm increments; the neck length of the femur may be adjusted with cone adaptors in three sizes: short (-4mm), standard (0mm) and large (+4mm); the cone adaptor is made of a Titanium alloy and has standard a 12/14mm cone.(figure 6)

The femoral component of the surface
replacement system is designed for cemented
fixation. The head size correspond with the acetabular componets are similar to the femoral components for totaal hip arthroplasty. This makes the components interchangeable and allwo cfor a comnversion from a resurfaciing hip to a total hip, as shown on the X-rays here below. This patient fell unfortunatly shortly
after receiving a resurfacing hip. Upon assuring that the primary fixation of the cup had not changed the resurfacing was converted to a total hip in a relative simple procedured
